Meet The Team

Sutesh is responsible for the day to day management of Portman Square, with a focus on risk, portfolio construction and engaging with key clients. Sutesh was formerly Global Head of Citi Principal Strategies Group, Global Head of Proprietary Trading at Morgan Stanley, and CEO of Old Lane, a hedge fund with $4.6bn AUM, acquired by Citigroup.

Toby manages all of Portman Square's non-investment functions, alongside his role as independent risk officer. Toby was previously COO of Citi Principal Strategies, having spent 14+ years with the company.

Yusaf is responsible for equity strategies, which include dispersion and volatility relative value. Yusaf was formerly Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of Convertible Bond and Volatility Arbitrage at Citi Principal Strategies, and co-CIO of Old Lane.

Alessandro focuses on credit strategies and was formerly Partner and Founder of Theorema Credit Funds - an Alternative Asset Manager, and Portfolio Manager at Bluebay Asset Management.

Julian manages equity volatility strategies, with a key focus on OTC dispersion trading. He was formerly Quantitative Risk Management and Trading at Green Owl Capital.

Bastien focuses on equity volatility strategies, with a key focus on quantitative analysis and fixed strike dispersion. He formerly held roles at Fincad and Arkera Artificial Intelligence.

Alex formerly held financial control roles at Marshall Wace, Rozes Invest, Renshaw Bay, Credit Suisse, and RBS.

Alistair is responsible for Portman Square's business development efforts, with a focus on key client management, on-boarding and delivering our research and insight capabilities to clients. He was formerly CEO of Marble Bar Asset Management LLP, and CEO of Capstone Investment Advisors UK LLP, a hedge fund with $9bn AUM.

Petros is responsible for all legal and compliance aspects of the firm. Petros was previously general counsel and compliance officer at Trafalgar Asset Managers, legal counsel at GLG Partners (Man Group) and an attorney at Maples Group. Petros began his career at international law firm Clifford Chance.

Christian has worked in a variety of senior technology roles since 1986, at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Jabre Capital and RBS covering software development and technology project management for complex organisations.

Jaipal supports the team with research activities, modelling, and idea generation. Jaipal was formerly Head of Volatility Strategies at StratiFI LLC and MD at The Carlyle Group having founded a quantitative asset management company which was subsequently acquired.
